Roam by Dawn Barker is a simple asymmetric bias triangle shawl, designed to use the concept of Assigned Pooling. It invokes roaming across fields of tiny, bright flowers. Assigned Pooling (or planned pooling) occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. For Roam, stockinette stitch was used for the main color to create a backdrop for the bobble stitch using the accent color. This sample was knit by Jill using 2 skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in one of the Tosh X Barker Wool Collaboration colorways. The luxurious, hand-dyed 100% superwash merino creates a fun and squishy-soft shawl.
