ONLINE CLASS: Knitting Short Rows :: Saturday May 20
Virtual Class via Zoom
Instructor: Ingrid Saxon
Date: Saturday, May 20, 2023
Time: 9:00-11:00 AM Pacific time
Short rows are used for shaping and motif-making in many shawls, sweaters, and accessories. We will learn the wrap-and-turn (w&t) method while working on the “Leftie" shawl. Other short row methods will also be discussed. Leftie is an asymmetrical shawlette that is worked in garter stitch and uses mini skeins or leftovers as contrast colors. Short rows are used to create tiny leaves along the edge, making it a fun and relaxing way to learn a new technique.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner. You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. You should be comfortable reading a pattern and working on small needles.
