New Pattern: Ornamental

New Pattern: Ornamental

When I first saw Norah Gaughan's Knitted Cable Sourcebook, I was awestruck. Here was entire book full of new, stunning cable motifs, never before imagined. I couldn't believe she had innovated such new and interesting stitches - and an entire book full of them, to boot!

Perusing this book is so inspirational - I immediately began picturing a cozy and warm cabled cowl. This cable stitch in Ornamental was created by and was perfect for its reversible qualities. This particular stitch was so intriguing on both the Right Side and the Wrong Side, that I knew immediately it wanted to become this cowl.

Introducing: Ornamental

This cowl is shown in Ultra Wool 33160 Peach, and reminds me of the ornamental cherry blossoms getting ready to burst on the scene for Spring. The pattern offers two lengths: one single wrap around the neck, or long enough to be doubled (shown in pictures). I think it would also be stunning in the new Dream In Color Classy
