Crafting Handmade Clothing for Homeless LGBTQ+ Youth
We are so happy to be an official drop-off location for Knit the Rainbow!
Knit the Rainbow (KtR) is the first organization of its kind in the United States, providing thousands of hand-made winter garments a year for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ Youth. Their programs are dedicated to giving these youth a warm and fashionable protective layer of clothing that is imperative to their comfort and survival during harsh winter months. KtR cannot achieve this mission without the help of volunteer crafters, designers, yarn shop owners, and donors from across the nation. They are constantly expanding the community they serve and need your help to grow their programs and output.
You can ship your handknits to our shop, or drop them off in-person at your next visit. Periodically we will ship them all to KtR for distribution.
Need pattern inspiration? Knit the Rainbow has a resource page with free patterns donated by designers who want to support the cause. Check them all out here.
