shop sample: head sock ribbed handknit hat
Head Sock by Amanda Steck is a basic all-over 2x2 ribbed handknit hat. The (free!) pattern is written for fingering weight yarn but can easily be adapted for other yarn weights/gauges, and the designer gives cast-on stitch counts for sport, DK, worsted and bulky weight yarns. Choose yarn to make it sassy or reserved; the all-over ribbing provides a great fit.
Jill knit our sample in a single skein of Queensland Kathmandu Fingering, choosing a beautiful purple color for spring. This luxurious yarn is a blend of 85% merino wool, 10% silk and 5% cashmere and has a tweedy look. It has amazing stitch definition and a luxurious feel against the skin.
