In-Store Class

Dates: Thursdays, October 24, 31 & November 7, 2024
Time: 9 AM to 11 AM
Location: Knot Another Hat
Join Jill to knit Anklers socks! One of Sarah's recent design, Anklers are great for less-experienced or first-time sock knitters. Never knit socks in fingering-weight yarn or think that socks take forever? Anklers are great because you move into the heel after just a few rounds at the ankle, so you jump into the tricky parts right off the bat. This three-session class will teach you all the steps to knit a top-down ankle sock, including Kitchener stitch to graft together the toe at the end. You will be able to easily apply skills learned to knit full length socks.
Skill Level: This class is suitable for advanced beginner knitters on up. You should know how to cast on, knit, purl, perform basic increases and decreases, and bind off.
Materials:
Registered students will be emailed a coupon code for 10% off class materials purchased at Knot Another Hat, and will receive a one-time 15% off coupon for a post-class purchase good for 60 days. (*Discounts exclude classes, events, and consignment items.)
- "Anklers" pattern by Sarah Keller will be included with class registration. Choose between adult medium (women's shoe sizes 5-11) or adult large (men's shoe sizes 8-12) sizes to knit.
- Needles: 2 circular needles size US 1.5 (2.5mm) - can both be 16" length or can be different lengths
- 210-250 yds (50-60 g) fingering weight sock yarn (yardage depends on size chozen). Suggested yarns: Knitted Wit HERstory Sock, LavenderSheep Yakkity Yak Sock, Universal Yarn Filly, Universal Yarn Sugar Saki, Universal Yarn Zesty Sock, Berroco Vintage Sock (can be ordered for drop ship),
- Stitch markers
- Finishing needle (for grafting toe and weaving in ends)
Homework:
Have your yarn wound (if needed) and ready to cast on. Optional: cast on stitches to one circular needle to be ready to split stitches between needles and join in the round in class.
Class size: Class will be limited to 8 students.
