A soft and slow space to breathe new life into beloved clothing and textile items. Creative or visible mending is the magical practice of highlighting repairs, rather than hiding them. In this workshop, we will reimagine treasured textiles, embrace play and experimentation, and ground in the slow, care-based craft of hand-sewing. The act of mending is personal, practical, and political.

Lexy will guide you through various visible hand-mending techniques to fix rips, stains, or holes using patches. Imperfection and experimentation are encouraged! This is an introductory class; no sewing experience necessary. Bring a cherished fabric item that you would like to creatively repair. Materials will be provided, though you are invited to bring in fabric scraps that you may want to integrate or share with others.
