shop sample: alpine bloom colorwork handknit hat
Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter is a handknit hat with a Scandinavian-inspired floral design that is fun and enticing to knit. This colorwork handknit hat pattern is written for child and two adult sizes. It was designed in sport weight yarn, but fingering or DK could also be used as long as gauge is met. Designed as a companion piece to the Alpine Bloom tee, this is a great pattern to knit over and over.
Julia knit our sample in Amano Duna (main color, 60% organic cotton, 40% alpaca; 218 yds/50g) and Urth Yarns Spiral Grain Sport (contrast color, 100% superwash merino wool; 198 yds/50g). The marled ply and long color change of Spiral Grain Sport creates a beautiful effect for the floral pattern and stands out against the contrasting main color Duna. This handknit hat is stylish and entertaining to knit!
