shop sample: the nineties handknit sweater

The Nineties by Alicia Plummer is a simple oversized raglan pullover with a mock rollneck.
The designer's words about this pattern really hit right now: "Do you long for simplicity and life at a slower pace? A time when the only phone in your life was hardwired into your wall with a satisfying spiral cord that stretched through three rooms, and renting a movie was an exciting treat after a long week? Sometimes all the “instant” we have now is too much. Too many products to choose from, too many shows to instantly binge, too many things to cram into every day." The Nineties handknit sweater is "a sweet moment of simplicity. Inspired by my favorite mail-order catalogues from the 90s: the ones where you lay on the carpet, circle everything with a pen, and then star your favorites. Pairs well with portable music players, chunky boots, and disillusionment."

Jill knit our sample, which was a test knit for the design, in 8 skeins of Daruma GEEK, a unique worsted to bulky weight wool/poly/alpaca blend yarn. The inner fiber and outer sheath of GEEK are dyed separately in contrasting colors. The resulting fabric subtly shows the color of the inner fiber, creating a stunning effect.
