shop sample: autumn alpine handknit sweater
Autumn Alpine by Caitlin Hunter is the latest in her alpine series - a fall/winter version of the popular Alpine Bloom tee. It features an interesting ribbing detail at the neckline, hem and sleeve cuffs. The floral colorwork yoke is equally beautiful in a contrasting solid color or a gradual color change yarn. Short rows are worked at the back neck for improved fit and optionally at the back hem to lower the back of the sweater.
Jill knit our sample in Berroco Lanas Light, a sportweight 100% wool with a long color change contrast color for the flowered yoke. The marled colors and gradual color change of Schoppel Wolle Edition 3, a 100% superwash merino, and Berroco Millefiori Light, a 50/50 wool/acrylic blend, fit the bill perfectly. A contrasting color of Lanas Light also would create a striking yoke design.
