shop sample: silverbells handknit sweater
Silverbells by Tin Can Knits is all the lace and bobbly fun a knitter could wish for, all wrapped up in a beautiful and very wearable pullover. The designer says “Sometimes, minimalism won’t do…you want a little ‘too much’. This sweater, which combines lace, bobbles, fluffy mohair and an extra-cushy doubled neckline, is a little EXTRA in all my favourite ways." The pattern is size inclusive, ranging from a finished chest measurement of 21" (baby 0-6 months) to 79.5". We love Tin Can Knits patterns for their quality, clarity, and size range - and, of course, the beauty of the finished piece.
Sarah knit our beautiful sample in Lang Enya, a worsted weight fluffy alpaca/nylon blend. The resulting fabric is shimmery with a beautiful halo. You could achieve a similar effect with a fingering and mohair/silk or suri alpaca/silk held together. Or use any DK or worsted that creates a fabric you like at the pattern gauge.
