shop sample: sockhead slouch hat
Sockhead Slouch Hat by Kelly McClure is a lightweight slouchy hat that the designer says “is the perfect project for that one skein of sock yarn that is way too special to put on your feet”. This simple handknit hat is knit from the bottom up with a very wide ribbed brim to fold up for an extra layer of warmth and lots of plain Stockinette st for mindless knitting. This versatile, free pattern includes seven sizes, from baby to adult extra-large.
Terry knit our sample in the lovely Laneras Beartooth, a 4-ply fingering weight 100% superwash Polwarth wool. The signature spin of Laneras yarns affects the dyeing, resulting in slight variations in color almost resembling handspun yarn. This is the kind of hat that will easily become a winter wardrobe staple.
