shop sample: wanderful sweater handknit pullover
Wanderful Sweater by Olga Putano is a lovely raglan sweater with a fun all-over colorwork pattern. This handknit pullover is worked from the top down in the round, seamlessly. The pattern begins with neck shaping, then it is joined to work the yoke in the round. After completing the yoke, the sleeves stitches are separated and placed on hold, and the lower body and hem are worked in the round. Stitches are picked up around the neckline to create a fluffy double collar. Finally, sleeves are completed. The colorwork motif is easy to work, begging for “one more row”, time after time. Use three contrast colors as shown, or just one.
Jill knit our sample using a combination of Amano Duna as main color (sport weight 60% cotton, 40% alpaca) with Yarn Citizen Trinity Cashmere (lace weight 49% alpaca, 39% silk, 12% cashmere) held double for the 3 contrast colors. The result is a soothing blend of color just waiting for cooler weather. Jill says "Love my yarn choice - Duna and yummy Trinity Cashmere (in KAH colors) held double for the colorwork!" This sweater could also be made as colorful as you like, choosing highly contrasting colors.
