shop sample: white mountains handknit sweater

simple raglan handknit sweater modeled on a woman

White Mountains by Midori Hirose is a "simple yet unique raglan sweater". The designer named this sweater for the Lefka Ori, white mountains in Greece. This handknit sweater is worked from the top down, seamlessly. The deep raglan and slightly oversized body contribute to its relaxed silhouette. Thanks to the top-down construction, you can try on your sweater in progress to adjust the body and sleeve lengths to your liking. The neckline has 4 variations to choose from.

Much like this designer's ever so popular "Ranunculus" sweater, White Mountains can be worked in various types and weights of yarn, changing needle size as appropriate. It can even be great in a summery yarn with elbow-length sleeves, or in lace weight yarn to create transparency.

Sarah knit our sample (in record time!!) using 7 skeins of Daruma GEEK, a unique worsted to bulky weight wool/poly/alpaca blend yarn. The inner fiber and outer sheath of GEEK are dyed separately in contrasting colors. The resulting fabric subtly shows the color of the inner fiber, creating a stunning effect.
