new design: strawberry high handknit shawl
Strawberry High by Sarah Keller is a triangle shaped handknit shawl with a ruffled lace edge and lightweight body. This ethereal triangle shawl pairs a brushed alpaca/mohair/silk body with a crisp ruffle border, shifting from soft and cloudy to bold and textured. It begins with the edging ruffle (and quite a few stitches), but after some dramatic decreasing in the ruffle it picks up speed as you near the finish line. After the fun edging, it’s a relaxed knit that delivers real drama once blocked and worn.
Inspired by the naturally dyed colors of the new Kinua yarns, Sarah designed Strawberry High in luxurious fingering weight Kinua Luxury Blend (80% merino, 20% baby suri alpaca; 420 yds/100g) for the edge, paired with brushed laceweight Kinua The Fuzzy (54% alpaca, 22% mohair, 24% silk; 218 yds/25g) for the body.
And guess what? Sarah put together some beautiful color combinations in grab-n-go bundles for Strawberry High using this yarn combination and other yarns, including LavenderSheep Yakkity Yak Fluff, which we just restocked.
