shop sample: jelka simple colorwork handknit hat

simple colorwork handknit hat with alpaca pom-pom

"Jelka" by Isabell Kraemer is a casual hat, worked in the round from the folded brim to the top. The colorwork stitch pattern on this hat is knitted with only one color at a time, using slip stitches to achieve colorwork without having to carry two yarns in a round. This makes it a great introduction to colorwork. Make the optional pom-pom as shown in the pattern, or pair it with a fun, lightweight Toft Alpaca Pom-Pom as shown in our sample.

Jill knit the medium size for our sample in Yarn Citizen Unity Worsted, which is made from non-superwash 100% wool remnants, sourced from a sustainable mill in Peru. Knit in 1 skein of each color, you can reverse the colors and have enough for a second hat (even for the largest size)! And it's a FREE pattern!!
