shop sample: pocket watch cardigan handknit baby sweater
Pocket Watch Cardigan is one of the fabulous patterns in the popular book "Knit a Little" by Marie Greene. Knit in a tweedy yarn with sophisticated details, you can imagine this handknit baby sweater on a very tiny person with a pocket watch. Inspired by a nautical pea coat, Pocket Watch is hardy enough to serve as a jacket during reasonable weather.
Jill knit our sample in the aran weight Berroco Millstone Tweed, a surprisingly soft tweedy wool/viscose/poly blend yarn. Her choice of the lilac color contrasts adorably with the wood buttons. Jill discovered her favorite way to knit baby sweater sleeves is to use the Chiaogoo Shorties interchangeable needles, which can create circular needles as short as 9" circumference. Side note: Jill has knit every sweater in "Knit a Little" (12 sweater patterns) and several more than once. We counted them up the other day and she has knit more than 20 "Littles"!!!
