shop sample: poppy dotted top handknit top
The Poppy Dotted Top by Marie Greene is another of the inspired lightweight designs in her new book, "Knitting Light". This top has a batwing shape, which creates a flattering and modern silhouette on a variety of body types. Wear it casual or dress it up, it's sure to become an instant favorite.
This handknit top is knit in the round from the bottom up to the underarm, increasing as you move up to create the batwing shape. The upper body is worked flat (front and back separately) with the short sleeves created as you go. The delicate flower stitches are worked on the upper body only. Due to the shape, the sizing for this top is based on hip measurement.
Sarah knit our sample using Amano Chaski, a unique sport weight yarn that is a blend of 60% superwash merino, 30% pima cotton, 10% linen. The bright yellow Tulip color spoke to her for spring and is the perfect canvas for this design.
